How Blueprint’s Data Virtualization Expertise Addresses Modern Data Needs
As a data intelligence company, Blueprint is committed to delivering the right data to the right person, at the right moment. We believe organizations shouldn’t have to move data to use it. In support of this mission, Blueprint built Conduit, a full-featured data virtualization product designed to democratize data access within an organization. Released for general availability in 2018, Conduit uses Apache Spark to integrate and present data from multiple sources in a single, curated catalog, making it easier for users to access and query data from various sources.
Utilized by enterprises in the technology, energy, and manufacturing industries, Conduit was showcased by Microsoft as “a good example of an emerging technology that provides direct query to numerous data sources regardless of their location via a centralized security model that enables de-centralized access” as a data virtualization solution for Azure Database for MySQL, Azure Database for MariaDB, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
We believe that a strong data lakehouse is the foundation for an organization’s intelligence strategy. We are funneling our expertise in the data virtualization space into the Blueprint Data Management Suite, four new accelerators that address specific lakehouse data management challenges and offer focused solutions for customers.
Accelerator 1: The Data Loader
The Data Loader accelerator simplifies the process of acquiring and copying data to the data lake, reduces the need for customers to invest in a full-featured data virtualization platform and enables customers to focus on specific data integration challenges. This accelerator is ideal for companies with mature data lakes that need to integrate data from multiple sources, organizations with data on disparate systems that need to be brought together into a centralized data lake, and clients looking to streamline their data management processes.
Accelerator 2: The Data Catalog
The Data Catalog accelerator offers a curated catalog of data sets complete with descriptions and a “click to connect to Power BI or Tableau” feature. It provides a more efficient way for customers to discover and understand the data in their data lake, simplifies the process of creating reports and visualizations based on the data in the catalog, and enables customers to showcase their data to end-users in a curated and easily accessible way. This accelerator is ideal for companies with data lakes that lack a curated catalog of data sets and descriptions, organizations with Parquet data that need to showcase their data to end users, and clients looking to provide end users with an easily accessible way to explore and analyze data.
Accelerator 3: The Conduit Data Sharing Portal
The Data Sharing Portal accelerator allows customers to securely share their data with third parties via sharing protocols and user access controls. It enables customers to create a data ecosystem of their data with third parties and partners, provides a secure way to share data with external partners while protecting sensitive data, and helps customers overcome the challenges associated with securely sharing data in regulated industries. This accelerator is ideal for organizations that need to share data with third parties in a secure and controlled way, companies operating in regulated industries where data security and compliance are top priorities, and clients seeking to streamline their data sharing processes.
Accelerator 4: The Data Lake Query Editor
The Data Lake Query Editor accelerator provides a SQL environment that allows users to query data on their data lake using a traditional SQL interface. It enables users to explore and analyze data directly from the data lake without needing to import the data into a separate data warehouse, reduces the amount of data movement and processing required for analysis, and makes it easier for users to work with the data using familiar tools and syntax. This accelerator is ideal for organizations that want to enable users to access and analyze data directly from the data lake without needing to import the data into a separate data warehouse, customers seeking to reduce the amount of data movement and processing required for analysis, and clients seeking to streamline their data analysis processes and enable users to explore and analyze data directly from the data lake.
In summary, each of the data management suite accelerators offer a focused solution to address specific data management challenges faced by companies. The Data Loader simplifies the process of acquiring and copying data to the data lake, the Data Catalog provides a more efficient way for customers to discover and understand the data in their data lake, the Data Sharing Portal enables customers to securely share their data lake data with third parties, and the Data Lake Query Editor provides a SQL interface for users to query data on their data lake without needing to import the data into a separate data warehouse.
Blueprint’s modular approach to data management enables customers to choose the accelerators that best suit their needs, offering a flexible and cost-effective way to manage their data lake.
The Data Management Suite by Blueprint is most leveraged in data infrastructure-based projects and are proven to drive speed to value for customers. With the flexibility to choose the accelerators that best suit their needs, customers can streamline their data management processes and unlock the full potential of their lakehouse.
